Paris, January 2, 2020 — Maillance® SAS today announced the appointment of Yasin Hajizadeh as its CTO, based in Houston and effective immediately. Yasin joins Maillance from Microsoft Headquarters where he has held product management positions in Machine Learning and IoT over the last two years.
Yasin’s appointment will accelerate the delivery of Maillance’s aggressive product and services roadmap in its goal of democratizing the use of artificial intelligence across the upstream oil and gas value chain.

Yasin has 9 years of international experience, working for Microsoft in Redmond, WA, on the development of its machine learning and IoT cloud platforms; Schlumberger in Houston, TX, on machine learning and advanced analytics; and Computer Modelling Group (CMG) in Calgary, AB, on optimization and uncertainty management products. Yasin has published more than 30 papers in leading journals and conferences, boasts numerous citations and several patents. He has been an adjunct professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Calgary since 2013. Yasin holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University in the UK, and a Masters in Technology Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.
